AI Weekly

What you get every Sunday

The same nine sections every week, so you can read all of it in ten minutes or only the part you care about in one.

01

The week in one minute

Five lines with the five things that mattered. If you only read this, you are already up to date.

02

The big story

The one event of the week that changes something, explained: what happened, why now and who wins or loses.

03

Models and products

New models, new versions and new features from the labs and the big platforms, with what is actually new in each.

04

Business and money

Funding rounds, acquisitions, revenue figures and pricing moves. Where the money is going tells you where the market is going.

05

Policy and regulation

The EU AI Act, the rules in the US and Asia, the lawsuits and the standards. What you have to comply with, and when.

06

Research worth knowing

The papers that will matter in a year, in two sentences each, without the maths.

07

Tools to try

Two or three tools I tested or that people I trust are using, with what they are good for.

08

Xavi's take

What I think of the week as someone who runs +10 companies on this technology. Opinionated, short and sometimes wrong.

09

The number of the week

One figure that puts the week in perspective, with its source.

An illustrative excerpt, so you can see the format. Real issues carry the real news of the week, each with its source.

AI Weekly: the week the agents got a budget

The week in one minute

  • A frontier lab shipped a model that plans and executes multi-day tasks with a spending limit you set.
  • Two cloud providers cut inference prices again, the third time this year.
  • The EU published the guidance that decides which AI systems count as high risk.

Xavi's take

Cheaper inference is not the story. The story is that an agent with a budget is a new kind of employee, and most companies have no process to manage one. Start with the process.

The number of the week

3x

How much the price of a million tokens has fallen in 12 months in the models most companies use.

The full issue continues with six more sections.

Questions about AI Weekly

How much does it cost?
€1 a month, billed once a year: €12 plus the VAT of your country. Companies in the EU can add their VAT number at payment and the invoice is issued without VAT under the reverse charge rule.
When does it arrive?
Every Sunday at 9:00 in the morning, Barcelona time. It covers the week that just ended, from Monday to Sunday.
In which language?
English or Spanish. You choose when you subscribe and you can switch at any time from the link at the bottom of every email.
Who writes it?
The research and the first draft are done with AI, which reads far more sources than I could in a week. I set the criteria, I edit and the take is mine. It is the same way I run my companies.
Can I cancel?
Yes, in one click from any email. You keep receiving it until the end of the year you paid for and it does not renew.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes. Stripe sends you an invoice for every payment, with your VAT number if you add it at payment.
What do you do with my email?
I use it to send you the newsletter and nothing else. No ads, no sharing, no other lists. The details are in the privacy policy.
